For Established Business Owners
Your business is growing. But is it actually becoming more valuable to you?
You didn't start a business to create another job for yourself. If growth still means more hours, more decisions flowing through you, and more problems landing on your desk, there's a cost to that. Most owners just never calculate it.
For established business owners with an operating team. Application required.
Does any of this feel familiar?
Revenue is growing, but profit isn't keeping pace.
You're doing more business without feeling meaningfully more rewarded for it.
Your team is busy, but too much still comes back to you.
Decisions, escalations, customer problems, sales, and execution keep landing on your desk.
You keep solving the same categories of problems.
The names change. The underlying issues don't.
You could take time off — but you'd pay for it when you got back.
The business can survive your absence. It just won't operate at your standard without you.
Growth seems to require more of you.
Instead of creating leverage, the next level creates another layer of work.
You know the business could perform better.
But identifying the actual constraint is hard to do from inside the company.
These are rarely isolated problems. They're usually symptoms of a business that has grown faster than its systems, leadership, economics, or the owner's role.
Before you book anything, let me show you how we think about this.
How to build a business that runs without you — with Tanner O'Brien.
How dependent is your business on you?
Answer a few questions honestly. There are no perfect businesses here — the goal is to see where growth may still lean too heavily on the owner.

Your unpaid hours aren't free.
Most owners don't count their own extra time as an expense. If a team member works an extra 20 hours, payroll goes up. If the owner works an extra 20 hours, the P&L often says it cost nothing.
But that time has real economic value. Put a number on it:
That's roughly
$36,058
a year in hidden owner labor
≈ $36/hr · $721/week
Illustrative only, based on your inputs. It doesn't count lost strategic time, missed sales, delayed decisions, or the cost of burnout.
Time is only half the cost.
Owner dependency usually shows up somewhere else too: profit. The owner compensates for weak systems, inconsistent sales, unclear accountability, pricing problems, or operational friction by working harder — which keeps the business moving while hiding the underlying leak.
The question isn't only "How much am I making?" It's "What should this business be producing if it operated better?"

The Ownership Advantage
A business should be a vehicle for the life you want — not a job you can never leave.
The goal isn't to remove the owner from everything. It's to make the owner's involvement a choice rather than a requirement.
The Offer
Let's look at your business together.
The Business Ownership Diagnostic runs as an accelerated two weeks of coaching at no cost — the same first-two-weeks-free coaching we offer any qualified owner, focused specifically on diagnosing where the real constraint is. Over those two weeks we'll look at:
- where the business is today
- where you want it to go
- what's currently demanding too much of you
- where profit or capacity may be leaking
- what continuing on the current path is likely to cost
- what we believe the highest-priority issues are
If we believe ActionCOACH can genuinely help, we'll explain what we recommend as the next step. If we don't believe we're the right fit, we'll tell you that too.
This is probably for you if…
- You own an established, operating business.
- You have a team.
- The company has real customers and revenue.
- You're serious about growth.
- You know the business could be more profitable or less dependent on you.
- You're willing to look honestly at the numbers — and change something if the current approach isn't working.
This probably isn't for you if…
- You're still at the idea stage.
- You don't yet have meaningful revenue.
- You're looking primarily for free tactics.
- You want someone to fix the business while you stay uninvolved.
- You aren't willing to examine the numbers or change how the business operates.
Apply for your Business Ownership Diagnostic
Give us enough context to understand where you are before we talk. It should take just a few minutes — "I'm not sure" is a perfectly good answer where it fits.
Straight answers.
Is this a sales call?
The first conversation is designed to understand the business and determine whether there's a real problem we can help solve. If there's a fit, we'll eventually talk about what working together could look like — we won't pretend otherwise. But the goal isn't to force coaching onto a business that doesn't need it.
How much does the Diagnostic cost?
Nothing. The Diagnostic runs as your first two weeks of coaching at no cost — the same offer we extend to any qualified owner. You get real coaching and a clear read on your biggest constraint before any money changes hands.
How much does coaching cost after that?
Our programs span from low-cost educational resources through several-thousand-dollar-per-month coaching engagements. The right recommendation depends entirely on your business and the problem you're solving — which is exactly what the two-week Diagnostic is for. There's no obligation to continue.
Do I need to share financial information?
Not for the application. But real diagnosis eventually requires real numbers, so at some point we'll want to look at them honestly together.
What if I'm not ready for coaching?
That's okay. If the business isn't a fit right now, we'll tell you — and point you to a more appropriate next step if one exists.
Is this only for businesses in Central Texas or South Miami?
Those are our home markets, and where we work most closely with owners. If you're elsewhere, apply anyway and we'll be straight with you about whether and how we can help.
Your business should give you more as it grows. Not require more from you.
If you're working harder to keep growth moving, profit isn't keeping pace, or too much of the business still depends on you — let's figure out why.
